OVERVIEW
Singapore sees approximately 100 new strata developments completed annually, encompassing condominiums, apartments, mixed-use, and some commercial properties. With about 450,000 strata lots housing 1.5 million residents, strata living is a significant part of Singapore's urban landscape.
The field of strata management has evolved significantly over the past decade, particularly post-COVID-19. Rising costs and changing resident expectations have reshaped the industry. The Building Maintenance & Management Act (BMSMA), governing all strata properties, has been amended twice in five years (2017 and 2023) to address these changes.
Developers and Management Corporations (MCs) must navigate these regulations while meeting diverse stakeholder needs across various property types.
